  What's New
               and what's coming soon...

July 2007
Well, it certainly has taken some time but finally I've had a chance to update this website and add a few new things. I can't believe it's taken me so long to get around to this. SORRY!!! Since the last update the full set of my children's educational series, Flying Colours, has been published both in Australia, the United States and Canada. It's even been translated into French, as have Nelson Focus and my PM titles. In addition, I have a brand new series out as part of the wonderful PM series of readers for children. It's called PM Science Facts. Check out the Books page for more details.

Coming soon - another series of books that are part of a whole new reading and writing program for children,  created for the PM Label. PM Writing Workshop is a very special complete literacy program designed to teach children how to read, write and understand different text types. My contribution to this series, along with wonderful author and good friend Julie Haydon, are a set of non-fiction exemplar books that we feel are second to none. Once again we have been backed by the expertise of the amazing Annette Smith as Educational Consultant. Annette is a person I consider to be one of the the world's foremost experts on children's literacy. Keep an eye out for this exciting new program.

Also coming soon... a fun book I'm hugely excited about! Cyber Hound is a story about a scruffy dog with some very special abilities. It is for eight to ten-year-olds and is part of The Five Mile Press Ripper Reads series of books. It will be availabe in all good book shops within the next couple of months and will appear on my books page once it's out.

Okay, what can I say... also coming soon a page on dog tricks you can teach your very own dog at home. Yep, nothing whatsoever to do with writing but since I spend just about as much time training my dog as I do writing, I think Tess and her tricks deserve a page. This page will provide tips on how to teach your dog a range of tricks such as the ones I've taught my Tess, including the use of props such as baskets and toys. Think Inspector Rex without the cute detectives LOL.  Other information on dogs will also feature from time to time.  At some point soon I will also be setting up a YouTube site to feature videos of Tess doing these tricks and some of her competitive Obedience work too. I may even feature some 'cat tricks' too, as I have taught my cat Miska several tricks such as to sit up and beg, 'sit', 'spin' and jump through a hoop. Teaching cats is a little different to teaching dogs. So, stand by for details. Now... I've just got to get time to do this!
