School Visits, Advertising Copywriting and
Voiceover Work
As Heather Hammonds Creative Services I am available for author school visits, for both primary and secondary schools. I am an experienced advertising copywriter who can provide copy for small businesses and real estate companies. In addition I am available to work as a voiceover artist for radio, corporate DVDs and other projects where voicework is needed.
School Visits
School visits by authors are a fun way to help children connect with literature, especially at Primary level. I have done many school visits and was also author-in-residence on a school grant program for Box Hill North Primary School for a term, together with my friend and co-author on a number of projects, Julie Haydon.
My school visits can be tailored to suit each school depending on what is required. My standard primary school visit includes an introduction, how a book is produced, from idea to finished product, shared storytelling and writing, question and answer sessions and if there is time, a reading from a book. Visits are of course also tailored to the requirements of each age group.
Secondary school visits are generally more involved with in-depth discussions on the publishing industry and how it functions, how a book is produced and those involved in its production, writing styles and genres, question and answer sessions and book discussion. I also do school visits with my dog Tess, 'star' of the Dog Tricks and Training DVD and book. Tess is trained to perform a number of tricks in a trick show and we are availabe to do school visits in this capacity and help teach children how to have fun with their dogs, as well as provide an entertaining show.
Advertising Copywriting
For small businesses, coming up with imaginative snappy advertising copy for newspapers, real estate magazines, the web and other media, can be a bore. So let me do it for you! I have written advertising copy for a number of small businesses including a very successful national advertising campaign for Villaware Imports and Cleanskin Kitchenware, importers of fine kitchenware.
