A message from Heather
Thank you for
visiting my website. Whether you are a teacher, a parent or other
interested adult, or a child, I hope you enjoy your stay. As you will
see from my books page, the majority of my published works are for
children. I have had the pleasure and privilege of working on a number
of exciting children's educational series, both fiction and
non-fiction. The world is an amazing place and I hope that my
non-fiction titles in particular, inspire young readers to look further
at the topics I write on.
There is a stories
page in the children's section on this site. All of the stories
attached to this page are fiction except one -
a non-fiction page that tells the true story of Joan of Arc in an
objective and non-denominational way. Some of the stories were up on my
previous website and one is new. I
hope to add more in the coming months. Teachers, please feel free to
use these stories in the classroom if you wish. Parents may also wish
to download the stories for their children and of course, children are
welcome to download them any time. I have had a lot of good feedback
over the years from both teachers and children about my story pages in
particular.
As mentioned on other pages on this site, at present I am working on a
number of exciting projects for both
children and adults that will be published over the coming months. I am
available for school visits and have a talk for children explaining how
the books they read in the classroom go from an idea to print, as well
as activities for children that involve brainstorming and shared
writing. It's usually a fun morning or afternoon for the kids with
plenty of learning about literacy.
